Most custom volleyball jerseys today are sublimated. Instead of printing a design on top of the fabric, sublimation puts the design into the fabric itself, so the whole jersey, front, back and sleeves, can carry any colors, patterns, logos, names and numbers.
This guide explains how sublimation works, why it suits volleyball, which volleyball jersey styles we make, and what to think about when you design your team’s jerseys.

How sublimation printing works
- Your design is printed with sublimation inks onto transfer paper.
- The paper is pressed onto polyester fabric with heat and pressure.
- The heat turns the ink into a gas that bonds with the polyester fibers, so the color becomes part of the fabric.
- The printed fabric is then cut and sewn into the jersey.
Because the ink is inside the fibers rather than sitting on top, there is no layer to crack, peel or add weight, and the jersey feels the same everywhere, including under the numbers. Sublimation works on polyester, which is why it is the standard for performance team uniforms. We print sublimated uniforms in our own factory in Sialkot.

Why sublimation suits volleyball
- Lightweight jerseys stay lightweight: no heavy printed or stitched layers on a fitted jersey.
- No design limits: gradients, patterns, photos and all-over designs are all possible, because the whole panel is printed at once.
- Names and numbers in the same print: each player’s name and number is part of the design.
- Long-lasting color: the design does not crack or peel with washing.
Our volleyball jerseys are made from 100% polyester Speedo 160 GSM fabric.
Sublimated volleyball jersey styles and sizes
Racerback and long-sleeve styles are made in women’s and girls’ sizes. See the full volleyball size charts and our volleyball uniform size guide for measuring.

Designing sublimated volleyball jerseys
- Numbers that read from the stands: use a number color that contrasts strongly with the jersey behind it.
- Libero jerseys: the libero must wear a jersey in a contrasting color to the rest of the team, so plan a libero version of your design in the same order.
- Home and away: two color versions of one design keep the team look consistent. Our reversible volleyball jerseys put both colors in one jersey.
- Exact team colors: we can match Pantone colors, and we send a free design mockup before production.
Sublimation vs other decoration
Screen printing and heat transfers sit on top of the fabric and suit cotton garments and simple designs. Sublimation suits polyester performance jerseys and complex designs. For a full comparison, read sublimation vs screen printing.
