Ordering custom team uniforms for the first time can feel complicated: designs, sizes, names, numbers, fabrics and deadlines. In reality the process is simple when you know the steps. This guide walks you through ordering custom uniforms from a factory, from your first idea to delivery.

Step 1: Decide what you need
Start with a list of the items your team needs, for example game jerseys, shorts or pants, warm-up tops, jackets and socks. Note roughly how many players you have and whether you need youth, men’s or women’s sizes. At FJ Sportswear the minimum is just 10 pieces per design, and sizes can be mixed within that.
Step 2: Gather your design ideas
You don’t need a finished design. A logo, a sketch, a photo of a uniform you like, or simply your team colors is enough for a designer to start. Make a note of any sponsor logos, the team name, and whether you want names and numbers on each garment.
Step 3: Request a quote
Send your list, approximate quantity and design files through a quote form or WhatsApp. Include your deadline, such as the first game of the season, so the factory can plan production around it.
Step 4: Approve your free design mockup
You will receive a digital mockup showing your uniform with your colors and logos. Check every detail carefully: spelling, colors, logo placement and numbers. Ask for changes until it is exactly right.
Step 5: Confirm the order and provide sizes
Once you confirm your order, you receive the size chart for your product. Collect sizes from every player, along with names and numbers if needed, and send the complete list.
Step 6: Approve a physical sample
Before bulk production, the factory makes a sample so you can check the fit, fabric, colors and print quality in person. At FJ Sportswear a sample takes about 3 weeks.
Step 7: Bulk production
After you approve the sample, your full order is produced to match it. Bulk production usually takes 3–4 weeks, depending on quantity.
Step 8: Delivery
Your order is packed and shipped to your door by FedEx, DHL or UPS. Leagues can have their orders packed separately by team, which makes distribution easy.
How far ahead should you order?
Add up the stages: a few days for design, about 3 weeks for the sample, 3–4 weeks for production, plus shipping. As a rule, start the process at least two months before you need the uniforms, and earlier if you have a large order or a fixed deadline.
Tips for a smooth order
- Collect sizes early, so they are ready when your order is confirmed.
- Double-check spelling of player names before approving.
- Order a few spare pieces for new players joining mid-season.
- Keep your design files so you can reorder the same design later.
