Team Uniform Size Guide: How to Measure and Order

Getting sizes right is the part of a team order that worries coaches and team managers most. Nobody wants a jersey that is too tight on match day or a box of shorts that fits half the squad.

This guide explains how our size charts work, how to measure, how men’s, women’s and youth sizes differ, and how sizing fits into an order with FJ Sportswear. At the end you will find a size guide or size chart for every sport we make.

How our size charts work

Every size chart on our site gives garment measurements for each size, in inches and centimetres, for men’s, women’s and youth sizes where the style is made in them. Each chart has a diagram with lettered points, so you can see exactly where each measurement is taken.

Our charts are a general guide for planning. Once your order is confirmed, we send the exact size chart for your style, and you give us the final size for every piece.

How to measure

The easiest way to choose a size is to take a garment that already fits the player well, lay it flat and measure it, then compare it with the chart. These are the measurements you will see most often:

Measurement	How to measure
Chest width	measure straight across the front, 1 inch below the armholes.
Body length	from the highest point of the shoulder down to the bottom hem.
Waist	measure across the top of the waistband, laid flat and relaxed.
Inseam	from the crotch seam down the inside leg to the hem.
Outseam	from the top of the waistband down the side to the hem.

Measure on a flat surface, keep the tape straight and do not stretch the fabric.

Men’s, women’s and youth sizes

Most of our team uniforms are made in three size ranges, and each has its own chart, so check the right one for every player:

Men’s sizes from XS, up to 2XL or 4XL depending on the style.
Women’s and girls’ cuts for women’s and girls’ teams.
Youth sizes such as YXS to YXL for junior teams.

How sizing works when you order from us

Step	What happens
1. Send your request	Tell us the products, quantities and your logo or idea. We reply within 12 hours, Monday to Saturday.
2. Free mockup	We send a mockup in about 2 days and revise it until you are happy.
3. Confirm your order	We send the exact size chart for your style.
4. Send your sizes	You give us a size for every piece. Sizes and colours can be mixed within our 10-piece minimum per design.
5. Paid sample (optional)	A sample takes about 3 weeks and lets you check the fit before bulk production.
6. Bulk and shipping	Bulk production takes 3–4 weeks, and courier shipping usually 6–8 days.

Tips for collecting sizes from a team

Use our free team uniform size list to collect every player’s name, number and size in one place, see the totals for each size, then copy the list into your quote request.

Keep one list with every player’s name, number and size for each item.
Ask players to check their size against a garment they already wear.
Check jersey and shorts or pants sizes separately, because players do not always wear the same size in both.
For junior teams, use the youth chart.

Are your size charts exact?

They are a general guide for planning. Once your order is confirmed, we send the exact size chart for your style and you give us the final size for every piece.

Can I mix sizes in one order?

Yes. Our minimum is 10 pieces per design, and the 10 pieces can be in mixed sizes and colours.

Do you make women’s and youth sizes?

Yes. Most of our team uniforms come in men’s sizes, women’s and girls’ cuts, and youth sizes, each with its own chart.

Are the measurements in inches or centimetres?

Both. Every size chart can be switched between inches and centimetres.

Can I check the fit before bulk production?

Yes. You can order a paid sample, which takes about 3 weeks, before bulk production.
