Hockey sizing has two things most sports don’t: jerseys are worn over shoulder and elbow pads, and socks are sized by the player’s height. Goalies also need their own jersey chart.
This guide shows how to measure hockey jerseys, how to pick sock sizes, and where to find the chart for every hockey style we make. For general sizing advice, see our team uniform size guide.

How to measure a hockey jersey
Because hockey jerseys go over pads, measure a hockey jersey the player already wears over their gear, not a T-shirt. Lay it flat and take two measurements:
- Chest width (A): measure straight across the front, 1 inch below the armholes, side seam to side seam.
- Body length (B): from the highest point of the shoulder down to the bottom hem.
Hockey jerseys come in Men’s XS–3XL, Youth YXS–YXL. See our custom hockey jerseys or open the hockey jersey size chart.

Jersey styles and goalie jerseys
V-neck, laced and lace-up jerseys, practice shirts and goalie jerseys each have their own chart. Goalie jerseys are made in men’s sizes and have their own chart, so do not size a goalie from the player jersey chart.

How to measure hockey shorts
Lay the shorts flat with the waistband relaxed, then measure:
- Waist (A): measure across the top of the waistband, laid flat and relaxed.
- Inseam (C): from the crotch seam down the inside leg to the hem.
Hockey shorts come in Men’s XS–2XL, Women’s XS–2XL, Youth YXS–YXL. Open the hockey shorts size chart.
Sizing tips for hockey teams
- Size jerseys from a jersey worn over pads, not from a T-shirt size.
- Ask every player for their height so you can choose sock sizes.
- Size goalies from the goalie jersey chart.
- Use the youth chart for junior teams.
- Reorders of an approved design can be below 10 pieces, so new players can be added later.
